Our educational program aims both to inform the public of important development strategies in contemporary art and promote audience interaction with our collection and exhibition projects.
The primary tasks are providing a free foundation course at the Rodchenko School of Photography and Multimedia, the art library, student exchanges with art institutions outside Russia and organising short-term educational courses in the main disciplines of photography and one-off events.
Rodchenko School Students
The Rodchenko School was founded in 2006 to train artists and photographers working in the spheres of contemporary art and mass media with documentary, art and project photography, as well as video and new media.
Students selected by a competition process are offered a free basic education in the following specialties: photography, video art, internet art, the history of photography, exhibition curator skills, photographic restoration and the electronic editing of images.
For fee-paying students there are regular short-term educational courses in various disciplines , classes for children and adolescents, seminars and practical studies in the history of photography and contemporary art; lectures and master classes by famous names in photography and multimedia from Russia and abroad. .
The museum collaborates with leading European art institutions as part of the student exchange programme. More than fifty artists and photographers have participated in the programme since it was created just over 10 years ago. These include Igor Mukhin, Vladimir Mishukov, Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe, Galina Moskaleva, George Pervov, Grigory Yaroshenko, prize-winners of silver camera contest and others.
The Multimedia Art Museum library contains publications on photography, contemporary art and social problems of the functions of art. There is a public area open to museum visitors and a section reserved for students of the school.

Our auditorium is open on the bottom floor of our museum. We hold lectures on the history of classic and modern art and invite world-renowned art celebrities during festivals.
Children's workshop in Rodchenko School
MAMM has a studio that teaches children and adults different shooting and printing techniques. We also cooperate with Moscow orphanage No. 24 for which we have raised the funds to open a photo lab. 2009 was announced the Year of Equal Opportunities, and during that year MAMM started to launch workshops for physically impaired children. The workshops take place in Yuzhnoe Butovo social rehabilitation center for physically challenged children.
