1939 — born in Moscow.
1959-1963 — works at TASS Photokhronika and there meets Vasily Yegorov and Nikolai Kuleshov, whom he considers his pupils.
1963 — participates in his first international exhibition in Budapest, where he is awarded the gold medal for his photograph ’Little Ballerinas’, taken in the ballet studio of the recently constructed Pioneer Palace on Lenin Hills.
1963-1989 — special correspondent of the magazine ’The Soviet Union’.
1964 — begins studying at Moscow State University department of journalism.
1987 — among the 100 press photographers who co-created the book ’One Day in the Life of the Soviet Union’, published in the USA.
2008 — his photo album ’How We Lived’ is published.
In different years he collaborated with publications at home and abroad ‒ ’Literaturnaya Gazeta’, ’Komsomolskaya Pravda’, APN, Paris Match, Freie Welt and French agency Sipa Press.
His works are included in the collection of the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, and private collections in Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Australia and the UK.
