This project are presented with the support of the Italian Embassy in Moscow, the Italian Institute of Culture and KMB-BANK (ZAO) a bank of INTEZA SANPAOLO

Mark Vinogradov’s Tuscany is the result of the «Russian Vision on Europe»: fields, hills, trees and fogs. The fields and the hills with their soft lines and dense, even colors, almost bringing to mind the contours of a female body, remind of Modigliani, the geometry of the boundaries of the fields and roads make us recall landscapes by Malevich and the palette — the oeuvre of Goncharova.

An Italian field is different from a Russian one — the horizon in Vinogradov’s shots is sometimes not visible. The hilly landscape here has determined the architectonics of the composition: sharp transitions of rich colors, the bumpy multi-layered structure of a country rode, the foggy gradations of the mountains and the vertical axes of the protagonists — poles and trees. The photographer often finds himself standing on a hill — shooting from the top his almost demiurgic panorama.

Mark Vinigradov’s Tuscany landscapes — the color and geometric analysis-contemplation of natural forms and outlines — is the Italian landscape of a Russian photographer.
